Well, I have got one heck of a story to tell. Weekend before last Gracie and I picked Bryant up from school on Friday and we headed down to Rexburg so we could bless Gracie. I was so excited because my whole family except Travis and Jen were going to be there and Bryant's entire family including some cousins and aunts were also going to be there. My dad was already in Rexburg visiting Troy, Bethany, Hinckley and Kristin and my mom was flying in Saturday morning. The plan was we were going to have dinner with everyone on Saturday evening and as soon as my mom got in we would bless her at Troy and Bethany's home. Everything was in place. We had permission from the bishop to bless her at home and thanks to Bethany, a key to the church building to have dinner. I was also really excited because Kristin was going to give me a pedicure at Paul Mitchell and was going to give my hair a good makeover! We were going along pretty well until we hit Butte Montana. It was about 8:00pm and it was really dark and there was a nice little snow storm going on. It still seemed fine until we got about 20 minutes past Butte and the roads became a bit slick and it was hard to see. We could see the weather wasn't going to get any better so Bryant and I decided it would be a better idea to go back to Butte and stay in a hotel for the night and make the rest of the trip in the daylight the next morning. So Saturday morning we woke up to find the storm worse than before. We still thought we could make it, we just needed to wait for the sun to come out. In the process of waiting, the interstate was closed! We have to go over Monida Pass to get to Idaho which sits at over 6800 feet and they closed it due to the horrible storm. So, we had no choice but to turn around and head back home to Spokane. We were able to stop my mom who was already at the airport and checked in. Luckily they let her exchange her plane ticket for another time. We were also able to stop Bryants family traveling from Boise. I was soooo disappointed I just cried and cried. We also had to buy a last minute plane ticket for Gracie and I to get to Salt Lake. My dad had not yet met Gracie in person at this point. So, Sunday Gracie and I flew to Salt Lake and stayed with Aunt Zannie. The next day we met my dad at the airport and headed to Southern Cali for a very nice visit. The most ironic thing about the whole situation is that we changed the plans for Gracie's blessing so that everyone would be able to make it in "good weather." So much for that! At least everyone was safe though. Before we left, I tried Gracie's blessing dress on her. Here is what she will look like when we bless her the first weekend in November!
