Ruth and Maren's visit

Last week Ruth and Maren flew up to visit us for a few days. Bryant hadn't quite started school yet so we were able to do some really fun things while they were here. Unfortunately, on the first day of their visit we went to Manito Park and I dropped our camera. It wasn't a really big drop, nor did it land in any water or anything...however the camera is broken. The lens thing won't close and it won't focus on any pictures. I have to say I was devastated! I have really enjoyed this camera (it was a christmas gift from Bry a few years ago), plus I didn't want to have to go buy a new camera. So, I have a few pictures from our excursions last week, but most of them are on Ruth's camera. On a good note though, we are now the proud owners of a brand new Casio Exilum camera that has 12.1 megapixels instead of the 7.1 that our old camera had. So, hopefully we will go find something else fun to do so I can post more pictures!

Anyway, we did do some fun things while "the girls" were here, and I will share the few pictures I did get. On Thursday, we went to Manito Park. I know I posted pictures several months ago, but everything was in bloom when we went last week and it was just gorgeous! We really enjoyed walking around and seeing all the different gardens and flowers they have.

These are pictures of the Duncan Gardens...where I dropped the camera. But it is beautiful!

On Friday, we went to the Cataldo Mission and Lake Pend Oreille/Farraget State Park. I don't have any pictures to share with you from this trip, but here are a few pictures from when we went a few months ago!

This is the old Cataldo Mission. The oldest standing building in Idaho.

Saturday we went up to Green Bluff. It's a big orchard place they have here in Spokane. Surprisingly enough, Bryant and I had not made it to green bluff until this trip even though it's only about 20 minutes away from our apartment. It was really fun. They are doing a big apple festival right now so they had fresh apple cider and lots of different kinds of apples for sale. They also had a big pumpkin patch which Gracie played in for a few minutes. The most exciting thing is that I found some peaches that were a good enough price to get so I could try canning them. I will for sure be posting about that soon!

These were a few pics taken on Bryants cell phone. I figured out how to get them online. Isn't she such a cute little chubby baby! This was the pumpkin patch they had set up. It's really a fun place!

Sunday we just went to church and hung out at home. Maren enjoyed watching lots of movies....especially the special features of movies while she was here! On Monday they flew back home. It was nice to have them visit for a few days. We sure hope they had a good time seeing where we live now and spending some time with us!

Our camera broke too...Blaine dropped it. We had to get a new one to and we got one with 10 megapixels and it is way nice. I love the pictures of Gracie in the pumpkin patch...she is so cute. Looks like you had a fun visit with some of your in-laws. Good Luck to Bryant with school. There is a school that Blaine applied to in Spokane and Seattle but doesn't think he will get accepted. He applied to about 35 schools so only time will tell. We'll keep you updated. Love you and miss you!
