Well, we did it! We survived 3 years of grad school! Really, we've been looking forward to this for the past 6 1/2 years since we got married, but the last 3 have been the most intense, challenging, busy years of school by far. We also got all moved out of our Boise apartment (which I was seriously starting to wonder if that was ever going to happen!), AND we made the grueling 29 hour drive to Beaumont Texas!
Like I said, we've been looking forward to this for the past 6 1/2 years, which means we have known that everywhere we've lived has been "temporary" for us. The past 6 1/2 years have taken us from Rexburg, Idaho to Spokane, Washington to Springfield, Oregon to Boise, Idaho and finally to Beaumont, Texas. I'm not gonna lie, it's hard to be the "new kids on the block" all the time. We've made some very special friends in every place that we've lived, having the church really makes life so much easier when you're nomads for a while! Still, knowing that we were not going to be staying in any of these places long term was hard. It was hard to leave good friends that we made, it's hard sometime to be willing to go up to random people and introduce yourself, and hope that they like you and want to be friends. It has been hard for Gracie as well. Last year when we moved to Springfield-she totally snapped. She's done better with this move, but she's still had some challenges with it I think.
We've been in Beaumont for almost 2 weeks now. Bryant is really enjoying his job so far, Gracie is doing really well, and LOVES nursery, I have been warmly welcomed in the ward here and have made some friends already. I think we are going to LOVE Beaumont! We're in an apartment for now, but we are looking at houses and assuming we still love it here in a few months, we are totally buying a house! It's SO SO nice to have Bryant completely done with school! It's an exciting time in our lives!
I think Mostly, it's feels nice to have a place to call HOME! So, if anyone ever wants to come visit, we plan on being here for a while!
